The maiden edition of the Nigeria Lubricants Summit 2014 held at the Ball Room of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. It kicked off on Tuesday, 19th and ended on the Wednesday, 20th August 2014. The event had top stake holders in its attendance which included the Hon. Minister for Industry, Trade & Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga. Engr Jani Abdulganiyu Ibrahim, MNI, OON Chairman, Lubcon Group, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, MD/CEO CMC Connect Limited (Perception Managers) – the conveners. Mr George Abiodun Osahon Dr. Joseph Ikemefuna Odumodu, DG Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Mr Alexis Vovk, MD, Total Nigeria,Engr. Kayode Sote, FNSE, Principal Partner, Lubeservices Associates.
There was a keynote address by the Honourable minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. Our very own Dr Adeyinka Akinbami, GM, Lube and Specialties was also in attendance. He gave key remarks about the state of the Lubrication business in Nigeria today. He was recognized by the organizers for his professional participation and unparalleled expertise, knowledge and experience. Our Lube Sale Engineer, Olufemi Ogunleye, was a also panelist at the event. He gave insights on some germane issues affecting the industry.
There were various sessions where participants made their voice known about the attendant issues affecting the lubrication agency. Ascon was well represented, displaying its various Lube Products. It was quite evident that our products are beginning to register in the consumer’s consciousness. It was a successful outing for Ascon Oil. The programme ended with sound recommendations for stakeholders. It was a also knowledge sharing session that benefited all in attendance.
